About Triumphant Gospel Ministries
My name is John Otis. I have ministered in the pastoral/church planting ministry for over 46 years and have written multiple books. My present ministry is focusing upon evangelistic efforts at the University of Georgia. My primary emphasis is one-on-one evangelism and open-air gospel preaching.
I am engaging in evangelistic podcasts, with a primary emphasis on great evangelistic preachers throughout church history. These podcasts also will focus on various theological issues pertaining to evangelism.
Dedication

Triumphant Gospel Ministries is dedicated in loving memory of my dear wife, now with the Lord.
Over the course of our final year together, my wife and I walked through many deep afflictions. Her health began to decline, my house painting business suffered, and ministry doors seemed to narrow. Yet even in the midst of these trials, we clung to the promises of God. I remember reading Romans 8:28 during our devotions in October 2023: “We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” I told her I couldn’t yet see the good—but I believed it would come because God said it would. She smiled and nodded, fully agreeing.
Neither of us knew that two months later, she would be diagnosed with cervical cancer. The Lord took her home in May 2024.
Her death has left a permanent mark on my life—but by God’s grace, it also led to me totally devoting the rest of my life to evangelistic endeavors. This website, and everything that flows from Triumphant Gospel Ministries, is offered in memory of the godly woman who stood beside me through many years of life and service.
Out of our suffering came the writing of a book: When Heaven Seems Silent: Trusting In God’s Unfailing Promises Through Times of Affliction. This book is also dedicated to my wife. Its purpose is to help others walk through affliction with a steady heart, anchored in Scripture and the faithfulness of God.
All of us face suffering, but God has not left us without comfort. As 2 Corinthians 1:3–5 reminds us, the comfort we receive from God is meant to be shared with others. This ministry—and this book—is my way of doing just that.
