The Greatest Story Ever Told: How You Can Be Reconciled to God

Have you ever wondered what happens after you die?

Are you prepared to stand before the Living God? Do you want to know how to be saved according to the Bible?
This is the most important question you will ever ask—and thankfully, the Bible gives a clear answer.

The Holiness of God and the Problem of Sin

To understand salvation, you first need to understand who God is. The Bible says God is holy—completely pure, righteous, and set apart. He created us to live in fellowship with Him, but we broke that fellowship through sin.

God gave us clear commands, known as the Ten Commandments, which include:

  • You shall have no other gods before Me.
  • You shall not make for yourself any idol.
  • You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
  • Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  • Honor your father and your mother.
  • You shall not murder.
  • You shall not commit adultery.
  • You shall not steal.
  • You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  • You shall not covet.

Even if you’ve kept most of them, the Bible says, “Whoever keeps the whole law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it” (James 2:10).
If you’ve ever lied, lusted, hated, or acted selfishly—you’ve sinned. The Bible defines sin as “lawlessness” and says that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Our sin separates us from God.

Why Good Works Can’t Save You

Many people believe that being a “good person” is enough to get into heaven. But the Bible says that our best deeds are like filthy rags before a holy God (Isaiah 64:6). Trying to earn heaven by good works is like trying to jump across the Grand Canyon—you’ll never make it.
Jesus once told a rich young man to give up his wealth and follow Him. The man walked away sad. Why? Because his money was his god. He had broken the first commandment: “You shall have no other gods before Me.”

The Good News: Jesus Bridges the Gap

Here’s the hope: Jesus is the bridge between sinful people and a holy God. This is how to be saved according to the Bible:
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” —Romans 5:8

On the cross, Jesus:

  • Took our place (substitution)
  • Paid our debt in full
  • Offered us His righteousness in exchange for our sin
  • It’s like checking your spiritual bank account and seeing a million-dollar deposit you didn’t earn. Jesus made the deposit on your behalf.

Is Jesus the Only Way?

Yes. The Bible is clear:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” —John 14:6
“There is salvation in no one else.” —Acts 4:12

Other religions may offer moral teachings, but only Jesus offers forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

How to Be Saved According to the Bible

Salvation comes through two things:

1. Repentance

Repentance means turning away from sin. It begins with recognizing that you’ve broken God’s law, that you deserve judgment, and that you want to live differently. It’s not just saying “I’m sorry”—it’s choosing to walk in a new direction.

2. Faith in Jesus Christ

Faith means placing your full trust in what Jesus did on the cross. It’s not just believing facts about Him—it’s getting in the “wheelbarrow,” so to speak. You surrender control and rely on Him to carry you across the gap to God.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28

What About You?

Do you feel burdened by life, guilt, or emptiness? Are you looking for meaning? You might be trying to find peace through relationships, pleasure, or success—but only Jesus can fill that void.

No matter what sins you’ve committed—whether abortion, addiction, sexual sin, or anything else—Jesus can forgive you and make you new.

A Personal Invitation

John Otis, the founder of Triumphant Gospel Ministries, once had no idea why he was on this earth. But after hearing the gospel message as a young man, he gave his life to Christ—and everything changed. The same can happen for you.

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; the new has come.” —2 Corinthians 5:17

Will You Receive Eternal Life?

The Bible says:

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life.” —John 3:36

Don’t wait. Cry out to God today:

“Lord, I’ve sinned. Have mercy on me. I trust in Jesus. Save me.”

This is how to be saved according to the Bible.

It’s not religion. It’s a relationship with the living Christ.
